mobile dog grooming

We’re not the cheapest; we’re the best!

GT Grooming Trailers doesn’t cut any corners. If there was a way we could build a better grooming trailer, we would! We too could build cheap trailers, however we plan on being in business for a long time!

Trailer Shell

GT Grooming Trailers:

• Trailer specially framed for GT.
• Superior torsion bar suspension.
• Authorized repair shops nationwide.
• Anti-corrosion treated frame.
• Because of our “quality demands,” GT spends about 6k for each shell.

YYY Trailers:

• “Off-the-lot” Cargo trailer.
• Considered to be one of the lowest quality “price point” trailer shells on the market—just a few thousand dollars each.

ZZZ Trailers:

• Leaf-spring suspension.
• Frame is only painted.
• Shells are about 4k each.

Flooring

GT Grooming Trailers:

• Workspace floor is sprayed with $1,000 of Rhino®.
• Mechanical area is sprayed as well.
• Entire trailer is undercoated.
• Recessed floor drains make cleaning easy.

YYY Trailers:

• Workspace only is sprayed with optional urethane.
• Mechanical area is exposed.

ZZZ Trailers:

• Workspace is sprayed with Line-X® (They may say it is Rhino® but it is not. Line-X® cracks occur in the trailers and allows water to seep into the floor).
• Mechanical areas are exposed.
• Trailer is not undercoated.

Stainless Steel (SS)

GT Grooming Trailers:

• Unmatched SS quality, fabricated in-house.
• All fixtures are 16-guage (twice the thickness) SS.
• Tub is completely welded and drains to the proper side of the street.
• Tub rack is SS.

YYY Trailers:

• Only SS is the optional tub and is “catalog-purchased.”
• It is half the thickness of GT.
• Tub is caulked to stay watertight.
• Tub rack is plastic.
• Other fixtures are made of wood.

ZZZ Trailers:

• Only SS is the tub and is “catalog-purchased.”
• It is half the thickness of GT.
• Tub is caulked to stay watertight.
• Tub rack is plastic.
• Other fixtures are made of wood.

Generators

GT Grooming Trailers:

• Highest quality RV and Commercial ONAN Generators.
• Generator is hardwired into the trailer.
• Generator has an internal control panel.
• Mounted on the tongue to keep from being overheated which is a common problem when stored in a box inside trailers.

YYY Trailers:

• Uses “portable” generators that warranty will not cover for this kind of application.
• Is not hardwired into the trailer.
• Needs to be manually turned on.
• Needs to be “plugged in” to the trailer to operate.
•Needs to be “tented” to keep from overheating.
• Is a gasoline powered generator that is placed adjacent to propane bottles. This dangerous set-up is illegal in some states.

ZZZ Trailers:

• Uses good-quality Generac Generators.
• Generator is hardwired into the trailer.
• Generator has an internal control panel.
• Installed in a box inside trailer.

Equipment Placement

GT Grooming Trailers:

• GT designs its trailers to RV standards.
• No delicate equipment openings on the front of the trailer—only a stone guard.
• Generator is “all weather” and warranty is kept valid with GT’s installation.
• Our equipment is balanced throughout the trailer to maintain the recommended 10% to 15% gross trailer weight on the tongue.
• All equipment placement is designed for efficiency, accessibility, and ergonomics.

YYY Trailers:

• AC is vented to the mechanical compartment so groomers must open the rear cargo doors for the AC to work properly.
• Gasoline generator is placed within inches of propane tanks.
• Some models have absolutely no storage to the right of the grooming table.
• True weights are not disclosed.

ZZZ Trailers:

• Delicate items are installed with the openings on the front of the trailer.
• All heavy items are on the front end of the trailer so stabilizer bars may be needed.
• Water tanks are stored under trailer exposing them to risk of freezing.

Common Sense Design

GT Grooming Trailers:

• All tools and dryer are at the right hand of the groomer.
• SS table backsplash with restraint eyelets.
• Nothing impedes access through the door.

YYY Trailers:

• All tools and dryer are at the left hand of the groomer.
• No backsplash, just a window to catch the flying hair.
• Wood cabinets impede access through the door.

ZZZ Trailers:

• Tools and dryer are behind the groomer or behind the table.
• Some models have a backsplash, most don’t.
• The trailer shell is made to haul cars—therefore it has a huge ramp on the back for no reason - actually their previous website advertised it as working as both a “moving trailer” and a grooming trailer.

Air Conditioners

GT Grooming Trailers:

• RV quality AC that provides 4 times the BTU to cubic feet ratio as some other trailers.

YYY Trailers:

• Uses an “apartment” window AC that requires the trailer’s back doors to be open during use (unless you purchase the $600 optional rear door vents).

ZZZ Trailers:

• RV quality AC that works very well for its application.

Hot Water Heater

GT Grooming Trailers:

• Propane water heater. Propane is the fastest way to heat water.
• Mounted with vent to the side of the trailer to keep clean.
• Does not consume generator power.

YYY Trailers:

• Electric water heater. Generator must be on to heat water on the way to your appointments.

ZZZ Trailers:

• Propane water heater.
• Mounted with vent directly where your truck stirs up road grime.
• Does not consume generator power.

Overall Construction

GT Grooming Trailers:

• All SS framing for conversion.
• GT welds parts together.
• Goes the extra mile protecting the floor.
• Uses SS for storage areas.
• GT intentionally keeps the weight down so only one axle is needed, more trucks can tow it, keeps tire replacement costs down, and saves you money at the pump. We accomplish this with many proprietary secrets even though we have a smaller shell, our interior workspace is almost identical in size to some competing 12-foot trailers!

YYY Trailers:

• Wood framing for conversion.
• “Caulks” parts together.
• Skips protecting the floor that cannot be seen in pictures.
• Uses wood for storage areas.
• Requires two axles because of its weight.

ZZZ Trailers:

• Wood framing for conversion.
• “Caulks” parts together.
• Skips protecting the floor that cannot be seen in pictures.
• Uses aluminum for storage areas.
• Requires two axles because of its weight.
